AN EVENING OF #SELFIES: My 1st MBCS meeting

This weekend, i went to the second Uyo Makeup and Beauty Connect Series (MBCS.) The meeting had in attendance all the most influential makeup artist in Uyo
and it's environs.  from Carabella; Cherris and Lindiors to Latonne, Sinoren and Luvberry; all the big names were there. I won't lie i felt kinda shy about the whole prospect of being in the general presence of these great creatives. But alas! If you know anything about me, then you definitely know that whenever i get a uneasy feeling about anything it is usually a sign that i should go ahead and perform said activity.

At first i did not want to attend the meeting, i had this weird feeling that was going to end up being the guy in the background against all these top tier artist who have carved a market for themselves: And if i hate anything in life, it is being a wallfollower.

Walking into the venue for the meeting, i was gleefully greeted by the amazing Mfon Essien. The Founder/CEO of Carabella Makeup and one of the state coordinators of MBCS.
"Hi, how are you?" she asked me, with a warm smiled plastered on her face.
"i.. I am d.. doing okay" i stammered.
She smiled again, gave me a handshake and asked me to go enjoy myself (and boy did i do just that.)
I finally met with the creatives that look for my trouble (Luvberry i see you.) Just before the meeting started, we had a short selfie session outside. The meeting lasted about two hours -I am not at liberty to say what we talked about-.  But  know  this: It was a great learning experience both to me as a person and as an artist.
Then, the hour came. It was a time set aside in Makeup heaven. As soon as the closing prayer was offered. Almost as if it was rehearsed. everyone pulled out their phones. For ten minutes all the selfie poses i see on Instagram were dully represented. I have never met a group of persons who enjoy taking pictures of themselves. Scroll down to see all the selfies.
